Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
I am a worrier by nature. I worry about so many things, and it is one of the biggest things God has been dealing with me in my life. The problem I have ran into is that I don’t know how to live my life without worry.
It feels so foreign to me when the peace of God sweeps over my soul because I’ve lived so long in a state of worry. I sat this morning getting ready to read my Bible, and I had such peace when thinking about a certain situation. But do you know, I sat there and let worry creep back in! How ridiculous!
Embrace My peace.
Why does that seem so hard for me? Because I allow the devil to sneak those worrying thoughts back in, but Jesus gives me His peace. He’s already taken care of it. I just need to embrace His peace.
One of my favorite verses is Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Did you hear that? Peace that surpasses all understanding! No, we don’t understand it in the midst of trials, but we must embrace because the God of the universe is taking care of us. He’s telling you and me, “I got this. You can let go.” And if you will dear brothers and sisters, His peace will sweep over you today.
I pray you embrace His peace. It’s unlike anything this world can give!
